Who founded J.S. STEEL?
Harshil Vora founded J.S. STEEL on 11 November 2019 and is one of the partners of the firm. Since May 2025 the firm has worked from its yard in Ukharala (Mamsa GIDC), Ghogha, where material from Alang ship-recycling lots is sorted and gas-cut. The firm's only calling number, +91 95741 40067, is his, and he quotes every material at its own rate, because rates differ by material and lot and change daily. His rule for every order is that the buyer sees photos of the exact material before the truck is loaded. For scrap he confirms only what holds for every lot: that it is mild steel (MS) and not galvanised; chemistry is not guaranteed, because it varies from lot to lot.
Our yard
What we do
Material comes to our yard from ships dismantled at Alang, the ship-recycling (ship breaking) yard near Bhavnagar. We sort it, gas-cut plate into circles and parts, and sell it by grade:
- MS Circles: Gas-cut MS circles, dia 100–1200 mm, 6–100 mm thick. Ready stock and cut to size.
- MS Profile Plates: Ex-ship MS profile plates and pieces, sorted by thickness, for cutting circles, squares and parts.
- MS Rolling Material (2×5 kg, 5×10 kg): Ex-ship MS rolling material in 2×5 kg and 5×10 kg grades for re-rolling mills making TMT bars, round bars and flats.
- MS Profile Melting Scrap: Plate skeletons left after gas-cutting circles: dense, heavy-section melting scrap for casting foundries.
- MS Attachment Scrap: Sorted MS melting scrap from Alang ship-recycling lots for induction furnaces making ingots and billets.
- Used Ship-Store Items: Used chain blocks, hooks, shackles, valves and more from Alang. All sold as-is.
- Alloy Steel Clad Plate (P22 + SS 410): P22 (2¼ Cr–1 Mo) chrome-moly plate with 1 mm SS 410 cladding, 75 and 100 mm thick.
- CI Scrap (Cast Iron Machinery Scrap): Heavy cast iron machinery castings: machine beds, gearbox and pump housings, brake drums. For CI foundries.
We dispatch full truck loads across Gujarat and Western India. Most of our regular buyers are in Bhavnagar and elsewhere in Gujarat.
